ICSI CSEET June 2026: New Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility and Registration Fees
ICSI has officially revised the entry-level gateway i.e., CSEET to the CS profession. From June 2026 session onwards, the CSEET will be conducted under a new syllabus, a revised exam pattern, updated eligibility criteria, and modified registration fees, making the examination more rigorous, center-based, and increasingly subjective-oriented to assess candidates’ conceptual clarity and professional aptitude.

If you are planning to appear for the June 2026 attempt, this guide provides all the critical information you need to navigate these changes and prepare effectively.
Official Notification : ICSI CSEET NEW SYLLABUS JUNE 2026
1. The Major Shift in Exam Pattern: From Home to Examination Centers
The most pivotal change is the mode of the exam.
1. End of Remote Proctoring:
The January 2026 attempt will be the last session conducted in the “home-proctored” MCQ format.
2. Center-Based Testing:
From June 2026 onwards, students must appear for the exam at designated physical examination centers across India.
3. 4 Day Schedule:
Instead of a single-day test, the exam is now spread across four consecutive days, with one paper being conducted each day.
2. ICSI CSEET June 2026: New Syllabus Overview
The total marks have doubled from 200 to 400 marks, reflecting a deeper assessment of a candidate’s aptitude. The exam now includes a mix of subjective (written) and objective (OMR) papers.

3. Important Dates for June 2026 Attempt
Planning your registration and enrollment is the first step toward success.
-
Registration Window: December 16, 2025, to February 15, 2026.
-
Exam Enrollment (No Late Fee): March 1, 2026, to April 7, 2026.
-
Exam Enrollment (With Late Fee): April 8, 2026, to April 20, 2026.
-
Examination Dates: June 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2026.
4. Registration Fee & Mandatory Induction
The ICSI has introduced a new fee structure to account for center-based logistics and additional training.
- Registration Fee: ₹7,500. This fee is a one-time payment valid for 3 years and includes the Student Induction Programme (SIP) and online classes.
- Examination Fee: ₹1,500 per session. This must be paid during the enrollment window for each attempt.
- SIP Requirement: Completing the 1-day SIP is now mandatory before you can enroll for the examination.
5. Eligibility & Exemptions
- Standard Entry: Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination.
- Direct Entry (Exempt from CSEET):
- Graduates with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Post-graduates in any discipline.
- Candidates who have passed the ICAI (Final) or ICMAI (Final) examinations.
- Candidates who have passed the ICSI Foundation Program.
6. Passing Criteria: The 40/50 Rule
The standards for passing have remained consistent but are now harder to achieve given the subjective nature of the papers:
- Per Paper: You must score at least 40% marks in each of the four papers.
- Aggregate: You must score at least 50% marks in total (200 out of 400).
- Single Attempt: You must qualify all papers in one sitting. There is no “carry forward” of marks for individual subjects.
7. Preparation Strategy
With three subjective papers, your approach must shift from “selecting” answers to “constructing” them. Concept Clarity and Presentation now become very important for clearing your entrance.
- Master the Basics of Accounting: Since “Fundamentals of Accounting” is now a full 100-mark subjective paper, focus on conceptual clarity and practicing balance sheets and journal entries by hand.
- Improve Writing Speed: Practice writing long-form answers within the 3-hour limit to build stamina.
- Focus on Business Laws: Since Paper 4 (Business Laws and Management) is OMR-based, ensure you are thorough with specific sections and legal definitions to score high here.
- No Negative Marking: Leverage the OMR paper fully, as there is currently no negative marking for Paper 4.
The June 2026 restructuring is a clear signal from ICSI that the profession demands high-caliber students with strong communication and analytical skills. Start your preparation early and stay tuned to the official ICSI website for the revised study modules.
